Moroccan rugs are generally derived from the nomadic weavings of the Atlas Mountains. The feel is of a shaggy rug with a lush or cushioned wool pile, relatively thicker than your average area rug. These attractive area rugs are in dark brown over ivory, but a few are bolder with bright or light blue, brick or grass green. The patterns are generally asymmetric and allover with a few almost monochrome pieces. Virtually all the shelter magazines feature Moroccan style rugs in the most up to date room settings.
