The weaving traditions of Oushak date back hundreds of years. In the late 19th and early 20th century Oushak became known as one of the greatest rug making towns of Asia Minor as railroad connections with the Mediterranean seaboard facilitatedextensive trade with the European market. Patterns favored by the West were open and spacious lending an air of relaxed elegance. Our striking Oushak pattern was inspired by an early 20th century carpet woven in western Turkey and features an enlarged palmette trellis field design surrounded by a rosette border. Our Oushak pattern has been specifically designed to coordinate with Antique Legendspattern 2200-202 Bakhtiyari. Woven in the U.S.A. in a luxuriously soft construction of premium worsted NewZealand wool.
